I started like a gazelle- with fast short bursts and then steady at a slower pace. Bursts of research, notes, trainings, and then focused on what stood out and redid it a steady yet slower pace- allowing me to really take everything in.
The number one thing I recommend is do your research!
As many of you know, before Balance Me Out, I was teaching ART and a guest teacher at a local school in Sacramento. Doing the research for the coffee trailer felt like me getting ready for class curriculum/lesson plan (without all the pretty pictures).
Learn to love research: ask questions, get excited, and remember- real live people make the best resources, they have a wealth of information and many are happy to help you along the way.
Here's a quick summary to help you get started, but ultimately it is up to you to get the most current information. This list would have given me such a good start and it would have saved me a lot of time and energy. I hope it helps you! (look for a future blog post about each point).
